Hello. My name is Tara Black and I am Captain with the Covington Fire Department. Let me tell you about my friend, Chip Terry...
In 2017, Retired Assistant Chief Alan “Chip” Terry lost his battle with PTSD and took his own life. He was not only a dedicated firefighter to the City of Covington for nearly 30 years, he was also a friend, mentor, husband, father of six, and grandfather of one (now two). He, along with many other first responders, struggled with Post Traumatic Stress Injuries which can lead to many problems, including suicide.
As a result of his suicide, Chip’s wife Jo and their children have created the Chip Terry Fund and are on a mission to help other families avoid the loss of their loved one, who has devoted his/her life to serving others. The mission of the Chip Terry Fund is to provide educational, financial and emotional support and counseling to police, fire, and other emergency personnel and their families, particularly those affected by PTSD and other occupational related stress disorders. To learn more you can go to thechipterryfund.org.
Chip or Chief Terry, would often walk into a room full of firefighters and say, “Let me tell you buttholes something…” and then laugh. When designing a t-shirt to honor Chip this quote immediately came to mind. The helmet featured on the front is Chip’s helmet.
T-shirts are $22.00 each and a portion of the proceeds will be donated directly to the Chip Terry Fund.
The t-shirt is unisex and fits true to size. Available in sizes small-3X.
This is a preorder and will be available to order now through this Sunday, 3/28. You will be notified when the t-shirts have been received and shipped to you.
